4 Months Old

Lily is 4 months today...wow!! Where does the time go???

She is now rolling from her tummy to her back and really trying to go from back to tummy but gets caught then gets mad. :)
She is also "talking" alot and trying to stand on your legs or wherever she can put her feet down really.
She is sleeeping thru the night from about 8-8:30 until 6-6:30 am.
She just recently started eating between 5-6 oz each feeding.
We got for her next checkup and shots on Feb. 11th but she should be at least 12 lbs by now and definitely getting longer.
She is wearing size 3 mth and some 3-6mth clothes and can fit into size 1 shoes.
She's always smiling and is starting to giggle...I found her tickle spot yesterday. :)

She really is the center of our life right now and we love waking up to her everyday!
Here's some recent pics...I still have to get her "4 mth" pic today.

A few more DIYs

I have been wanting to spice up some candles we have in our room for a little while so I took some ribbon and hot glued it to these pillars and wala...cute candles! I like the cream ones better than the orange one but I wanted all 3 to match so I went ahead and did it to.

Lily also needed a new bow holder because the one she has now is completely full. I had gotten this scrap door from work and just Mod Podged some scrapbook paper to it and put on a "Our Little Angel" rub-on on it. I hot glued some ribbon to the bottom and now we have a big bow holder! Very easy and didn't cost me much at all.

Subway Art

I've notice Subway Art is becoming very popular on blogs lately. I've actually saved quite a few to print out. I had gotten some rub ons at Hobby Lobby recently thinking I would eventually use them to make Lily a scrapbook. Yesterday I was looking at them and decided I would make Subway Art out of them. I took a blank piece of paper and first laid out the words how I wanted them then went to rubbing. I used a hole punch at the bottom and tied a ribbon thru. I don't think it turned out too bad. I'm gonna end up putting it in a frame and hanging it in Lily's room.

This is a very easy way to make Subway Art!!

My 1st attempt at bows

I've been wanting to try and make Lily some bows for a while now but never got the chance. I also was afraid I would totally mess them up. Yesterday I got brave and decided just to go for it and try a couple. I still have to put something in the center of the flower one but they didn't turn out too bad for my first try. You can't see the black one very well but it's made of felt and looks like the one on the left.

Thrifty Buys

I'm not sure if I've said this before but I love thrift stores!! Very rarely do I buy an item for it's regular price in a store. I usually only buy something in a "regular" store if it's on sale....and alot on sale. Otherwise my favorite places to buy stuff is thrift stores.

I went to our local store last Saturday with my cousin and got all of this for $6! I got a vase, shelf, lamp (w/tags), candle stand, soap pump, and a couple yards of black felt. I have a few plans for some of these items so stay tuned!!

Yesterday while waiting for Brandon to get off work I went to our thrift store in town and got all of this for $8! I have lots of plans for the misc. stuff!!
5 sweaters & a winter hat for Lily

Why do I like where I work???

Because I get all of the free wood I want!! I work at a Cabinet factory (in the office) and we have scrap wood every day. I recently took up an interest in crafts and thought why waste money on wood when I can get it at work for free. I have a plan for everything, I'm just gonna have to find time to make it all. In the mean time Brandon isn't too thrilled that it's all just sitting around taking up space. ;)

Here's my heaps of wood I got. Some already have scrapbook paper I've Mod Podged over them.

Once Upon a Child

I went to Terre Haute last Saturday with my cousin to look for her a bridal gown and me a bridesmaid dress. I had gotten an email last week saying that the Once Upon a Child there was having $1 clearance sales so I knew I had to check it it out. I hadn't ever been there before so as soon as I walked in I was blown away....they had so much stuff!! I ended up getting Lily alot of clothes plus a pair of shoes all for under $20! I'll definitely be planning another trip there soon.

I'll post pics as soon as I get everything out of the dryer. :)

Snow Days!

We had yet another snow storm last week. I knew it was supposed to start Monday night and be pretty bad until Wednesday so I went ahead and scheduled vacation for Tuesday and Wednesday. I hated to use up vacation so early in the year but of course I was happy to be able to spend two days with Lily.

My first attempt at Bokeh

I've been seeing all these neat pictures where the subject is focused and the area behind it is blurred. I read the 31 Days to a Better Photo Series and decided to give it a try. I really don't even remember what settings were on my camera when I did this other than it was in AV mode. I didn't even have a real subject, just tried to focus on the top of the ornament container. LOL....it didn't turn out too bad for my first try.

After Christmas Bargains

I was at Wal-Mart the week after Christmas searching for some goodies for next year but everything was only clearance 50%...not quite enough for me. So, I went this last Saturday and it was marked down even less so I went ahead and grabbed a few things.

I had gotten Lily this stocking this year and wanted to get Brandon and I our own but when I went back after Christmas all they had left was a "C" and I didn't want Brandon to be without a monogram stocking so I didn't get it. I found 2 red stockings for $1.50 each at Wal-Mart that were nice so I got them. I may end up putting our initials on them eventually.
I also got a tree skirt for $2.50 & a Santa hat for $3.00 (which now I'm thinking wasn't on sale) to use for any photo shoots I do.

I found these plain stocking holders for $1.50 each. I plan on decorating them next year.
I was really excited when I found this 50 pack of ornaments for only $3.75! I love how the red, green, and brown look together...I can't wait to put my tree together next year!

I also got 2 Febreze candles in Pumpkin Harvest for $1.61 each and 3 Glade candles in Chocolate Cherry Sparkle for only .58 each! Yum!!!

I always love a good bargain!!

Christmas Tree Tour

I know I'm late doing this but I ran across this idea over on haleykrausphotography and thought it would be fun to do. We actually didn't have many neat ornaments on it until after Christmas, before they were mostly just bulbs....which is why the tour is coming after Christmas. :)

I'll start with my favorite bulbs that are on it....the glitter ones!!
The next one is my favorite ornament on the tree...Lily's 1st Christmas ornament. I had been searching for Baby's 1st Christmas ornaments for a while when I came across this post from Jenni. She was getting her daughter this ornament so I checked it out on Etsy and immediately fell in love. It's original and she's the only person I know that has it. ;) She got the Farmhouse one but I liked the Reindeer Games better so I chose it instead. You can print whatever you want on all 6 sides!
These next ornaments are what my Mom got us. They're really cute and they light up different colors.

Here they are in blue but they also glow in red & green.

The next ones are what my Mom and Brandon's Mom got Lily. She's going to have tons of ornaments on our Christmas trees!

Another one I had gotten her at Kohls.

And a few from previous years.

Rollin Rollin Rollin

Lily finally rolled over Saturday night!! I put her on her tummy and she immediately rolled to her back. Here's our little princess in action.

Finally a Rebel

I finally got me a Canon Rebel!! I ended up finding an XSI on Ebay for just as cheap as an XS was going for. I played around with it this weekend and I'm hooked. I'm sure my Point & Shoot won't get used very often now.
