Yesterday's appt

We went to the doctor yesterday and had our last sonogram. (After having to call the insurance company because they still hadn't approved my 4th sono (we're only supposed to have 2 unless medically necessary and this would've been my 4th). Thank goodness it had been approved but apparently they weren't going to let the office know. Oh how I hate insurance companies sometimes.) After getting the approval # and letting the doctor know, I was finally able to go in and see our little girl.

Lily is weighing 3 lbs, 13 oz and is in the 53rd percentile. I thought her weight sounded kind of small but the tech and the doctor both said she was doing great so I'm  hoping she'll be under 8 lbs when she's born. Her heartbeat was a steady 143 and her measurements all are perfect. She wasn't very cooperative and had her face buried to the side with her hands in front basically the whole time but we did get to see her yawn once and stick her tongue halfway out. Let me tell ya, that is the cutest thing!

I'm not going to put up our pics that we got because honestly you can't tell much of anything out. I look at them and they all look like a blur. The tech kept pointing to different things and measuring and I would just think "How can you even tell this?" Most if it just looked like black spots.

After the sonograms I always have to get weighed and my blood pressure checked before I see the doctor. I actually think I gained a pound this week but the nurse evidently didn't see it go up or something because she wrote down the same weight from last time. When she saw I didn't gain any she actually asked me if I was dieting. Of course I said no but I wanted to say "Hello lady are you kidding me!!" Her little comment kind of irritated me but I didn't say anything. She then went on to say they'd really like me to gain at least 20-25 lbs. Uh sorry lady I can't help it if I'm not gaining a ton of weight.

The doctor finally came in so he could listen to the heartbeat and answer any questions we had. I really didn't have any so he just told me the preterm labor signs to watch for and that I should be getting more Braxton Hicks contractions.  He also said everything with me and the baby looked great and it's basically just a waiting game for the next 8 1/2 weeks. I wish I would've said something about my weight but of course I forgot until we were leaving. And I figure if he's not concerned I'm not gonna be.

I have two more visits that are every two weeks then it'll be every week......already!!!

31 Weeks

I can't believe I only have 9 weeks to go. I won't be doing a questionaire this week because quite frankly, not much has changed since last week.

I ordered a car seat last week but after getting it in I decided I didn't really like it. We went to Baby Depot over the weekend and found a travel system we like much better so I shipped the original seat back yesterday.
Here's the one we'll be getting

Also this weekend I bought the "Baby Bargains" book. Oh how I wish I had this in my first trimester! This book is amazing and actually told me that some of the stuff I had put on my registry isn't the good kind. It's too late to change it now since my shower is Sunday but if I end up getting it I'll be returning and getting what the book recommended. I would highly recommend this book to any mom!

We have our 3rd trimester sonogram on Thursday so we'll see how much Lily weighs and maybe they'll be able to tell me how much they think she'll weight at birth. She's definitely starting to run out of room and she seems to like being in my ribs.

We haven't gotten any farther on her room and sometimes that causes me to panic but it's something I'm trying not to worry much since she'll be in our room for a while anyway. I feel like we aren't prepared at all with only 9 weeks left but I have my shower on Sunday so hopefully we'll get what we need and I can not worry so much.

P.S. I'm having lots of fun buying her clothes and bows!

Just 10 more weeks!

I can't believe I'm 30 weeks along already. Sometimes I feel like the next 10 will be an eternity but I'm sure they'll fly by and we'll have our little girl in our arms in no time. I was finally able to get the dresser in her room and some clothes put away....even though I'm not sure why I did it since I still have to wash everything. Maybe I'll get some detergent this weekend and get what's going in the dresser washed up. I still haven't decided whether just to go ahead and pay for Dreft or get some free and clear detergent. I've heard it's just as safe as Dreft but not near as expensive. Any thoughts?

How far along? 30 weeks

Weight gain? At my appt Thursday I was up 5 lbs from the last month but that's still only 10 lbs the whole pregnancy!

Maternity clothes? Some shirts and a few pairs of pants but can still fit into some my pre-pregnancy clothes. However, they are getting alot tighter.

Stretch marks? Ugghh yes on the very bottom of my stomach.

Sleep? I get up at least twice a night to go to the bathroom and it's harder for me to get comfortable and stay in one position the whole night.

Best moment this week? Seeing Brandon have fun watching her move around. And him asking me if I thought she would like kool-aid...not a huge deal but I thought it was so cute.

Movement? Yes but I feel her just moving around more now instead of kicks. She likes to stick her butt in my side alot.

Food cravings? Ice cream!

Gender? It's a GIRL!!!

Name? Yes we've finally decided on a name....Lily Jo!

Labor signs? Nope

What I miss? Being able to roll over in bed, bend over, and fit into my normal clothes. Also being able to stay outside in the heat for a while and also not having to sit down after standing for not very long.

What I'm looking forward to? Getting the nursery completed painted and molding up so all we have to do is get furniture.

Belly Button, innie or outtie? Innie still but I can't bend down to see it anymore.

Emotions: Not too emotional lately but I'm having quite a bit of back pain still and these stinking sciatic nerve pains in my butt!

Milestones this week: Deciding on her name!

29 Weeks

She's finally a squash!

"Baby’s energy is surging, thanks to the formation of white fat deposits beneath the skin. (Have those kicks and jabs to the ribs tipped you off yet?) Baby is also settling into sleep and waking cycles, though -- as you’ve also probably noticed -- they don’t necessarily coincide with your own. Also this month, all five senses are finally functional, and the brain and nervous system are going through major developments."

How far along? 29 weeks

Maternity clothes? Some shirts and a few pairs of pants but can still fit into some my pre-pregnancy clothes. However, they are getting alot tighter.

Best moment this week? Getting the floor down in her room!

DIY Closet Dividers

I had seen closet dividers before on thebump.com and also on etsy and I knew I wanted to make them a DIY project. A while ago I had the guys here at work cut out my circles for me (oh how I love working at a woodworking factory.) They've been sitting in our closet just waiting to be decorated. Finally yesterday I was determined to get them done. We were at Family Dollar when I spotted a really cute roll of wrapping paper. I believe most people use scrapbook paper for theirs but I figured this would work just as well....plus it was only $1! I then grabbed a pack of glue sticks, also $1 and headed home.

I first started by laying all the circles down on the wrapping paper, tracing them, and cutting each out. Then, one by one I glued the paper on and set them aside to dry. After a while of drying I came back and wrote the sizes I needed on each. Tada....done!! And the best part, they were totally easy to do and only cost me $2 to make!!

She has a floor!

We finally were able to get the laminate flooring for the princess's room this weekend. For a long time it's just been a plywood floor since the room wasn't being used but just for storage. After a frustrating start we (Brandon and I) finally got into a continuous routine and eventually got it all down. That stuff can be stressful let me tell ya! We still have to get all the molding for the room but it looks 20 times better now!

Labor signs? I think I've had one BH contraction but that's it, no real labor signs thank goodness. I'd rather not go this early.

What I miss? Being able to roll over in bed, bend over, and fit into my normal clothes. Also being able to stay outside in the heat for a while and also not having to sit down after standing for now very long.

Eclipse

Friday night Brandon and I went to see Eclipse: The Twilight Saga. Let me tell you.....SO GOOD!!! We both said we'd love to see it again. I won't mention anything about it so not to ruin it for those that haven't seen it but it's definitely worth watching. And worth the $40 we spent at the theater (our tickets and snacks)...ouch. :( That would be the reason we never go to the movies. Also, I've never seen a more active crowd in the theater before. When certain stuff would happen people would cheer and clap. They were really getting into it. We can't wait for Breaking Dawn to come out!!
