Ribbon Holder

I found this tutorial on another blog...sorry I forgot where. Please let me know if this is yours!!

I grabbed a slotted basket from Dollar General and some dowels from work (when I worked). I just placed my ribbon spools on the dowels and slid them through the slots in the basket then put the ribbon ends through the holes to be accessible. Total cost=$3.50

A few more DIYs

I have been wanting to spice up some candles we have in our room for a little while so I took some ribbon and hot glued it to these pillars and wala...cute candles! I like the cream ones better than the orange one but I wanted all 3 to match so I went ahead and did it to.

Lily also needed a new bow holder because the one she has now is completely full. I had gotten this scrap door from work and just Mod Podged some scrapbook paper to it and put on a "Our Little Angel" rub-on on it. I hot glued some ribbon to the bottom and now we have a big bow holder! Very easy and didn't cost me much at all.

My 1st attempt at bows

I've been wanting to try and make Lily some bows for a while now but never got the chance. I also was afraid I would totally mess them up. Yesterday I got brave and decided just to go for it and try a couple. I still have to put something in the center of the flower one but they didn't turn out too bad for my first try. You can't see the black one very well but it's made of felt and looks like the one on the left.

DIY Wreath

I have been reading alot of blogs lately and most of them are ladies who have DIY'd alot of their Christmas decor. I went to Salvation Army Wednesday and decided I wanted to hunt down some good stuff that I could "recreate." I ended up finding a wreath that had just a plain red ribbon on it for $1. I immediately snatched it up and took it home to see what I could make out of it.

I replaced the ribbon with one I had gotten at Dollar Tree and put some ornaments on it that I had gotten in a bag full of various colors, also from Salvation Army. My total cost for the wreath was $2.50. Here's the final result...not the best looking wreath but not too bad for my first time. :)
