22 Weeks, 3 Days

I've decided that I'm going to start posting this questionaire with all of my updated bump pics. I'll try to do them on Tuesday when I'm on an even weeks count but since today is the first day, it's gonna be in the middle of a week. And I don't have a pic today either.

"Watch what you say -- baby is now able to hear outside noise from down in the womb. Studies show that baby finds gentle music and your own voice most soothing. Nipples are starting to sprout, and that little face is fully formed. And, baby's starting to settle into sleep cycles, snoozing about 12 to 14 hours a day. It shouldn't be hard to figure out when -- just pay attention to those kicks as they start and stop. "

How far along? 22wks 3 days

Maternity clothes? Some shirts and a few pairs of pants but can still fit into my prepregnancy clothes pretty well. I just don't button my pants and wear a belt.

Stretch marks? No stretch marks that I've noticed.

Sleep? I have to switch positions pretty often so it doesn't ever seem like I get much sleep. No middle of the night bathroom breaks anymore though!
Best moment this week? Nothing too exciting this week.

Movement? Yes mainly around 8-9 in the morning then again around 2 in the afternoons and sometimes when we're going to bed. Seems like baby hasn't been moving alot lately though. :(

Food cravings? Earlier this week it was Watermelon but thru the whole pregnancy it has been salty food. I just get cravings every now and then, nothing all the time.

Gender? Still don't know.

Labor signs? Nope. I hope not to have any for a while.

What I miss? Sleep definitely!

What I'm looking forward to? Starting the nursery!

Milestones: No milestones yet.

Emotions: Short on patience, absentmindedness big time!

Snickers Pie

Last night we ate supper at Brandon's aunt & uncle's and I wanted to take a dessert. I came across this recipe over on Heather Drive and thought it would be great to take. Plus it didn't take long to prepare so I could do it quick when I got home from work. It's called Snickers Pie and even though it doesn't have any snickers in it, it tastes almost like one.....oh and did I mention it's DELICIOUS!!! Seriously you have to try it, even just once to see how yummy it is.

Snickers Pie
(Source: Heather Drive)

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups vanilla frozen yogurt, softened

1 cup fat-free whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
1 small box fat-free, sugar-free instant chocolate pudding mix
1/4 cup reduced fat peanut butter (chunky)
3 oz. Grape Nuts cereal
Hershey's Lite Chocolate Syrup, for drizzling
(I actually didn't use much fat free stuff so mine wasn't as healthy as hers.)

Directions:
1. Microwave peanut butter for 20-30 seconds to soften it enough to stir easily.

2. Combine all ingredients (except chocolate syrup), and mix together well. Pour into 8" dish. Freeze for 20-30 minutes.
3. Drizzle with chocolate syrup. Jazz it up with a few extra dollops of whipped topping, and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips, sprinkles, etc.
4. Freeze until ready to serve. Remove from freezer 5-10 minutes before serving

The mix before putting into the pan.

Going into the freezer

SATC 2

I'm so excited! I just saw the previews for Sex & The City 2 and it's coming out this weekend!! I love the first movie and I watch it all the time so I can't wait to see the second one. I'm even trying to find all of the seasons on DVD so I can catch up. I never got into the show until I watched the movie, now I'm hooked!!

22 Weeks

I'm now 22 weeks into my pregnancy. This past week I think my stomach has grown several inches, I feel like I'm carrying a basketball! I mainly feel the baby hitting or kicking in the mornings between 8-10 and afternoons between 2-4. It starts back up again in the evenings when I'm relaxing on the couch and the past few nights it's been up in the middle of the night. Overall I feel good except I've been battling a sinus infection the past week. I'm also not sleeping very well but I really haven't since I found out I was pregnant. I seem to just toss and turn all night and can't get very comfortable. I guess I'm just in training for when the baby gets here.

The weather this weekend was very hot and I got to experience my first day of getting overheated on Sunday. I played outside with the dogs for a while then put some clothes to hang on the line. When I was done I could tell I was getting too hot so I went inside and had to lay down for a while to get cooled off. I'm not really looking forward to those kinds of days this summer. And oh how I love the summer and hot weather when I'm not pregnant! :)

This weekend we plan on cleaning out the spare bedroom and get it primered and hopefully painted to start the nursery. Yay!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

This Sunday Brandon's best friend is getting married. Of course I've become friends with his fiance so Saturday she asked me to go out with her and some girls for a "not so wild" bachelorette party. We started the evening by driving to Terre Haute and eating at "Ichiban." It's a Japanse steakhouse which I had never been to. Hope and a couple of the girls had been there and loved it so they had to tell me what to get.  One really cool thing about this restaurant is they fix everything right in front of you.

I ended up ordering Chicken Yakisoba. It's basically just chicken teriyaki with Lo Mein noodles. You also get a salad and small soup before the main course. I was a little leary about how japanse food would taste but let me tell you, this food was AMAZING! Better than alot of American food I've tasted. I've done told Brandon we have to go there so he can try it. They also serve sushi and different seafoods but I figured I would play it safe and go with the chicken. The cook let us try some shrimp and it was awesome so I think that's what I'll get next time.

After we got done eating we decided to go to a local attraction called "Bogey's Family Fun Center." They have different activities including Go Carts, Mini Golf, Trampoline, Batting Cage, Tilt-a-Whirl, Climbing wall, Playland, Video Arcade and lots more! They were closing in an hour so we decided to squeeze in some mini golf. It took us over an hour to finish the 18 holes but I forgot how much I enjoyed mini golf!

After we left we all thought ice cream sounded good so we started the hunt for somewhere that was open. First stop was Baskin Robbins, nope closed....next was Wendy's, closed. We then thought of Dairy Queen so we hurried over and made it right in time before the manager locked the door. She didn't look very happy to see 9 girls coming in wanting ice cream, mostly all blizzards. :)  We all got our orders and headed for home. I had so much fun and it made me want to have girls nights so much more often.

P.S. Brandon took his best friend out to eat that night also so it was nice for him to be occupied and not at home by himself while I was out.

Meet me at the Drive In

Friday night I told Brandon I wanted to have "date night." We decided we would go to a new restaurant in a nearby town that we had heard good reviews on...Puerto Vallarta. If you can't tell by the name, it's Mexican. Then, I told him I wanted to go to the drive in just up the road.

We started the night at the restaurant. I ordered a chicken burrito w/ cheese and a side of rice, Brandon ordered a steak fajita taco salad (like always). Everything was so good and it reminded me a lot like El Rancherito. We will definitely be going back!!

After we ate we had to time to spare before the movie started. The state park where we got married is just a couple miles from the drive in (and actually on the way) so we took a drive thru the park and checked out the spot we were married. Oh how I love being reminded of that day! We spent about 15-20 min in the park (yes it's that big). I could really get lost driving thru there.

It was then time to head to the drive in. We arrived about 20 min. before the movie was to start so we had our pick of where to park. We always take the truck and since it's pretty big, we get a spot in the back. After a while of listening to the radio and watching other people there, it finally got dark and the movie was starting.

The first movie was "Date Night" with Steve Carrell and Tina Fey. This actually wasn't as funny as I thought it would be but had a cute message. I'd watch it again but wouldn't go out and buy it tomorrow. The movie got over around 10:00 and after a 15 min. intermission and us getting a hot dog and the nastiest pretzel I've ever tasted the second movie was starting. This one was "Bounty Hunter." We had been wanting to see this for a while and I have to say we were a little disappointed. It wasn't as good as we thought it would be. Not one I'd want to buy either.

The movie finally got over around midnight so it was time to head home by then, plus I was getting pretty tired at that point. Our date night was over but I had such a good time with my husband and can't wait to do it again. I love nights when it's just us!

20 Weeks

I'm officially half way!! I can't believe how fast time is going. I found out when I was 4 weeks and I remember thinking this is going to take forever. Sometimes still each day goes pretty slow but then before I know it, it's been another week. Baby A's gender is unknown (see previous post) and it's actually a little exciting not knowing (although we think it's a boy) but we would still LOVE to know whether we have a Prince or Princess on our hands.

I've just realized that I haven't mentioned once what we've come up with names. We've already told some people our choices so I figure it's ok to tell on here. :) For a boy it will be Griffin Lee...no changing this one, Brandon is dead set on the name and I'm really starting to like it too. For a girl, we're thinking Lily Jo. We aren't dead set on this but honestly we haven't talked much about a girl name. I really like it and as long as he does to, I think it's what we'll go with.

I haven't been feeling much different lately except that I cannot sleep good at all. I still toss and turn but it's starting to really bother me to lay on my left side and last night I had terrible leg aches in both legs. Not to mention my belly seems like it's gotten huge the last couple weeks. I never realized how hard it was to carry around so much weight...and I'm not even very big yet. Ugh!! At my appt Friday I mentioned my feet and fingers swelling so he told me to cut down on the salt and drink more water..boo! :( I love salty foods and I hate giving up my every day sweet tea. Oh the sacrifices for our little monkey. :)

It's a.....!!!!

Friday I had an appt for the antomy ultrasound. We've been really excited about knowing what we are having so there was no question whether we wanted to find out or not. We went in, I laid down and first thing the tech said was "the legs are crossed." I seriously wanted to say Are you kidding me!! Every u/s we've had the baby has been very active moving around and if I would've been far enough along we definitely could've seen if it was boy or girl.

She reassured me that she wasn't giving up and she would keep checking. We ended being in there for about 30 min. as she was checking the arms, legs, heart, kidneys, etc. to make sure everything was how it was supposed to be. Of course every time she checked back with the legs....still crossed! The baby didn't move at all during the ultrasound! She wasn't even able to get a 4D picture because it was head down and on my left side, the monkey just was not cooperating. Afterwards Brandon told me he was kind of glad we couldn't find out because he was really nervous and just knew she was gonna say It's a girl! Just because he's wanting a boy so bad. Surprisingly I wasn't nervous at all, just anxious and excited.

So....we still don't know what we're having and to be honest, I NEVER thought this would happen to us. I really thought we would go in there and have no trouble finding out. I am definitely a little frustrated but also just laugh about it sometimes knowing that are child already has a stubborn side.

On a positive note, the heartbeat was 137 which the tech said was perfect and weighing in at 10 oz. When I saw my doctor afterwards he said everything looks great with me and the baby, oh and I've only gained 1 pound the entire pregnancy!

My next appt I have the dreaded glucose test, although I'm not real worried about it. I just really want to pass the first test so I don't have to get my blood drawn 3 times in 1 day at the next one...ouch! I won't have my next ultrasound until 30 or 32 weeks (I can't remember which) so hopefully then we'll be able to tell what the little monkey is.

19 Weeks

I'm 19 weeks now...I can't believe I'm almost halfway already! I've been feeling pretty good and can feel the baby move everyday. That's such an amazing feeling! We go back Friday to find out whether the little monkey is a Prince or Princess....I can't wait!!

Here's the latest pic of my bump at 18 weeks 4 days.
